Dear Parents and Guardians,
I wanted to share with you how I plan to provide Math Learning Opportunities for the Middle School Math Students. I will be using Google Classroom to post different Math Learning Opportunities for the students; furthermore, I will be using another online platform to provide visual and verbal directions. The platform I am using is called "Flipgrid", the students are familiar with this resource and have used it in class a few times.
Through Flipgrid, students can watch videos recorded by myself and their peers. I have asked that the students record a video after they complete the learning opportunities. These videos allow them to share how the learning with me and their peers. The students can also provide feedback to their peers using Flipgrid.
A few things about Flipgrid: 1) students must use their school e-mail otherwise it will not let them in, 2) if the camera does not work on their Chromebook they won't be able to record a video, 3) there is a Flipgrid app that works great when recording videos (it's free!).
During this time, I will not be grading any of the completed learning opportunities; however, it is important that the students continue to practice their Math Skills to maintain their current understanding. I have also included a list of other online resources that we have used in the classroom, these are also great learning opportunities.
