I hope this letter finds you well and ready for the busy time of November and December. The first quarter has flown by ending on October 18. We just completed conferences and it’s great to see the growth our students have made. We are still waiting for the ISASP results, which are the new state assessments administered last spring. The school board made the following their Annual Goals for the 2019-2020 School year.
Implement High Reliability Schools Initiative with improvement in Level 1 - Safe and Supportive Culture as measured by HRS surveys and Pulse data
Establish a PBIS team in each building for TIER 1 Implementation during 2019-20 school year
Improve working relationships as measured by Pulse
Provide more work-based opportunities for students through Future Ready initiatives
Explore sharing opportunities for sports low in participation numbers
Improve staff attendance as measured through use of Frontline Attendance tracking.
Improve communication with community stakeholders through website, newspapers, newsletters and social media
Enrollment
Below you will see this year’s enrollment numbers. We unfortunately declined in enrollment from 407 to 388 (19 students). We also saw a change in open enrollment from last year being even at 48 students in and 48 students out to this year being 38 In and 59 Out. The loss of 19 students equates to a loss of considerable financial aid from the state as each student brings the school $6,736 in financial aid. We also pay the $6,736 per student open enrolling out. That amount was a wash last year, but this year is a net loss of $141,456.
