River Valley Happenings
The River Valley Elementary Booster Club is asking for your help with donations for a “sleeve" for teachers to slide over the arm or bracket at the top of the classroom door in case of an intruder. The “sleeve” is capable of withstanding more than 550 pounds of force, buying some time for first responders to arrive on scene. It's made of solid, 12 gauge, carbon steel. There is a link to the Fighting Chance Solutions page on the River Valley Elementary Booster Club Facebook page. The sleeve can be applied or removed in seconds. Each sleeve costs $65.00/per door. We need to raise approximately $4875.00 to have sleeves available to all of the necessary rooms in the elementary and high school. We had a very successful Family Fun Night, raising approximately $1200.00 and auctioned off chairs at the concert on Nov. 24th. Elementary Booster Club members will be at the 7-12 music concert on Dec. 11th to answer questions, provide information and collect donations. We all hope to never have an intruder situation occur. However, being prepared is our best defense. Thank you for your help.
